The Whitehaus is a non-traditional performance venue and artists collective located in an eight-bedroom home in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts. So awesome. Go and check out their site! they have a lot of interesting artists you can see videos of and listen to new music. Great interactive sight to check out some new artists if your into the Folk like scene. A truly interesting group of creative and artistic people. Wish I was part of something like this

I was reading on the Relix magazine website and came across this band. Howlin Rain is really interesting. They have the Dead sound and that old school rock n roll vibe. So here is a small glimpse of the incredible talent of Kelly and The Hermanos!   On their facebook page they put up just one song from their newest album I am still waiting for to come out.. seriously can not wait for this album. From Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Kalispell has found a great combination of blends from folk, southern and contemporary genres. Beautiful and blissful Kalispell certainly can melt any heart. The old soul vocals and chiming piano rifts make a great pairing in all their songs. Sweet and somber melodies are abundant as they collide with a southern/folk undertone. Their songs hold a small portion of melancholy yet they hold a longing vibe as long draw out simple notes enclose around a joyful atmosphere. The song “Highways and Cranes” delivers a soft opening that draws you in closer to the music. Rolling guitar rifts and soft drumbeats are the perfect coupling for his voice and guitar. The next tune “Plot Lines” brings the tempo up a bit more. Forceful drum hits and vocals fill in nicely as the well arranged song sweeps you back and forth from beautiful piano work to solemn sung verses.  The last song “Last Year” showcases rustic vocals with a rhythm and melody that will stay in your head forever. His songs are sincere and wonderful to listen to. It is a great mixture of old folk music with contemporary beats. Their EP “Last Year” is pleasing to listen to for any type of day or mood you are in. Look for their next full-length album to be released in April 2012.

It has been a whirlwind and crazy ride of a season and semester. The music I have seen lately was incredible! Here is the rundown…

Primus September 23rd and the Orpeum…. I’m oficially in love with Les Claypool. The pig mask will forever haunt my dreams

Ila mawan at the paradise rock club September 30th – love this venue ever since they revamped it. love seeing shows there. especially when my friends are there playing!

Adam Payne at Tommy Doyles September 1st – always a pleasure to be amongst great friends who blow my mind with incredible music.

Dopapod at middle east downstairs Oct 8th – Stellar show as always! front row for the 81st time.

October 14th and 15th on the road with Blue Mountain Bustdown – definitely one of the best weekend tours I have had in a while.. with one of my favorite group of guys/musicians.

November 16th – THE FREAKIN FOO FIGHTERS – yeah, I saw that, i was there, TD Garden. and Dave Grohl has never been so great. seriously humble musicians. I was so happy to see a great modern rock group still kickin it.

November 19th Chris Robinson Brotherhood – wow.. just wow… sencond part of the show we got front row right up on the stage. so many hippies that night.. and the music was to die for. yeah, Chris and I definitely made eye contact a few times that night.

I was so lucky to have seen the Allman Brothers FoR FREE on November 29th at the orpheum.. damn, if there was one band that could live on forever.. i Choose them!!

Hmm and I think that is it for now.. I’m sure I’ve been to more shows than that.. there are NOW too many to count and I just go to as many shows as I can. Can’t wait for next year!

Sadly I was not able to attend this amazing festival in Florida… being a senior in college and all. But here is a video for everyone’s viewing pleasure…..

I couldn’t believe it was my first time at Wally’s last night. I don’t know what took me so long to venture to this amazing magical funky place. Wally’s Cafe is located on Mass ave about a 10 minute walk from Berklee College of music. The talent there is unbelievable. Amazing local and well know musicians play and every night they have a different style of music and bands perform. I went to funk night, of coarse! The Band was called WTF and they play every tuesday night there. The place itself is very quaint, like a little whole in the wall kind of place. Lots of locals come there, I talked to a few people saying they have been going for over 20 years. I highly suggest if anyone is in the Boston area definitely go to Wally’s!
